Professor (2006-)，doctoral supervisor (2008)， currently Dean of the Department of Philosophy and Director of the Institute of Phenomenology at Nanjing University. He has received grants from the Freeman Foundation, the Erasmus Program of the European Union, and the China Scholarship Council, and has been a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois, the University of Leuven, and the University of Freiburg.

His research interests include continental European philosophy (centered on phenomenology), Levinasian thought, the relationship between human and God in the history of Western philosophy, postmodern ethical politics and Western Marxism.

He authers Temporality: Self and Other ------ From Husserl, Heidegger to Levinas, and is the co-translator of The Return of the Political (by C. Mouffe), De Dieu qui vient à l'idée (by E. Levinas), and De l'existence à l'existant (by E. Levinas),etc., and published dozens of papers in academic journals.
