Zhang Liang got a B. A. of law at Yangzhou University in 1995, moved to the Department of Philosophy at Nanjing University to pursue M. A. and PH.D. Since 2001, he has worked at the Department of Philosophy. He was promoted to professor in 2008. He was appointed as an Advanced Visiting Fellow at the Department of Politics, the University of Sheffield from September 2009 to August 2010, and an Advanced Research Fellow at the School of Politics and International Relationship, the London Queen Mary University from June to July 2014. Now he is the Deputy Chair of Department of Philosophy and the Deputy Director of Center for Studies of Marxist Social Theory (CSMST), Nanjing University. He holds part-time research fellowships at The Marxist Classical Collection Research Center of CCTB, The Institute of Marxist Philosophy and Chinese Modernization, Sun Yat-sen University, The Center for British Studies, SISU, and The Center for Studies of Western Marxism, CUPL. His main research interests are Marxian Philosophy, the British New Left and Current Radical Ideologies.
