Focusing on Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing and HSK test preparation, this program is designed for non-native Chinese speakers and is delivered by experienced teachers. Students are placed in small classes of 8 different levels under the categories of beginner, elementary, intermediate and advanced levels according to their Chinese proficiency.

Visits to historical sites and scenic spots in and around Nanjing.
Interaction with Chinese students, Chinese recitation & speech contest, teaching observation and practice, etc.
a. Application Deadlines: December 30 for spring semester and June 30 for autumn semester.
b. Admission terminates when seats are full.
c. Applicants who have reached certain levels of Chinese proficiency may join a class in the middle of the course.
An applicant should be over 18 years of age, in good health, and with a valid passport.
a. Tuition:¥9,500 per semester or ¥19,000 per school year, payable after the enrollment.
b. Application fee:¥500.
c. Medical Insurance:¥400 per semester.
d. Textbook fee: collected according to actual expense.

a. Nanjing University mails the Letter of Admission of Overseas Students and Visa Application Form of Overseas Students (JW202 Form) to successful applicants within one month after receiving the online application. Applicants can also log on to their accounts at http://istudy.nju.edu.cn to check their status.
b. Admitted applicants submit visa applications to the Chinese embassy or consulate office with the Letter of Admission and JW202 Form.
c. Students register at the Institute for International Students of Nanjing University within the required time period stated in the Letter of Admission of Overseas Students, bringing together with the original copies of this letter of admission, JW202 Form, and the Foreigners’ Health Certificate (since this certificate is valid only for 6 months and is required when applying for Residence Permit after entering China, please make proper arrangements concerning the timing of the physical examination).
Semesters start in February and September each year. The specific dates are stated in the Letter of Admission.
