The Austrian Service Abroad and its Volunteers – Cultural Exchange Ambassadors

The Austrian Service Abroad annually sends young Austrian men to countries all over the world to serve for one year in the fields of Holocaust Memorial Service, Peace Service and Social Service. Since 2008 there are Peace Servants sent to this John Rabe and International Safety Zone Memorial Hall to help internationalize this Peace Museum.

The main tasks of them consist of translation work, updating the exhibition and leading tourists, classes and delegations through the John Rabe Memorial Hall, the Pearl Buck House and the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall, providing German, English and sometimes other languages for their tours.

These volunteers have a strong commitment and have, after finishing their Peace Service, still close contact with the John Rabe Memorial Hall.
