Gu Su, male, was born in April 1955. He received a Master of Philosophy degree at Nanjing University in 1981, majoring in Western philosophy. Then he stayed to teach. From 1983 to 1986, he was awarded the Scholarship of Harvard-Yenching Institute in the United States and went to Duke University to study Western philosophy, including the philosophy of law. During that period, he received the Master of Arts degree at Duke University in 1985. After returning to China, he continued to write his doctoral dissertation and received the Doctor of Philosophy degree at Nanjing University in 1989. He then continued to be a lecturer at NJU, and was promoted to associate Professor in December 1990 and Professor of Philosophy and Law in March 1995. He is currently working as a doctoral supervisor.

From August 1995 to August 1996, he was Liberal Art Fellow in Law and Philosophy at Harvard Law School, mainly engaged in the study, research and communication of law and legal philosophy. Since then, he has been visiting scholar to Melbourne University, London School of Economics, Oxford University and other universities, mainly focused on political and legal philosophy, Western and Chinese liberalism.

Academic posts: member of the Council of Chinese Society for Modern Foreign Philosophy; member of the Council of Chinese Society for History of Foreign Philosophy; contract researcher fellow of HongFan Institute of Law and Economics; researcher fellow of Fudan Institute for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences.

Recruit doctoral research interests: (1) Western political philosophy; (2) Contemporary western philosophy of law; (3) Western applied ethics and management philosophy.
