NJU co-hosts 18th Joint Academic Conference with Kyushu University and Renmin University of China

On September 27, 2025, the 18th Joint Academic Conference, co-organized by the School of Economics at Kyushu University, the School of Economics and the School of Applied Economics at Renmin University of China, and the School of Economics at Nanjing University, was successfully held at Kyushu University’s School of Economics in Fukuoka, Japan. The conference, themed on "Responding to Global Uncertainty: The Future of Sino-Japanese Economy", brought together distinguished scholars from the three universities to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics in the field of economics.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Chu Meifen of Kyushu University. Professor Toshio Ohnishi, Dean of the School of Economics at Kyushu University; Professor Sun Puyang, Dean of the Institute of China’s Economic Reform & Development, Renmin University of China; and Professor Zheng Jianghuai, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Nanjing University, each delivered remarks. In his address, Professor Zheng emphasized that global challenges such as geopolitical shifts, technological transformation, and climate change are reshaping the world economic landscape. He noted that the three universities have evolved from academic partners to resilient collaborators, contributing intellectual strength to the economic prosperity and stability of both countries.

During the seminar session, scholars from NJU's School of Economics presented four high-level research reports.

Scholars from both countries engaged in lively discussions during the conference. It is reported that academic exchanges among the three universities have continued for over a decade, facilitating more than a hundred collaborative research projects and joint talent development initiatives.
