Tan Tieniu visits China Telecom to strengthen university-industry collaboration

On December 15, Tan Tieniu, Chair of Nanjing University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a delegation to visit China Telecom. Ke Ruiwen, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Telecom, met with Tan Tieniu and his delegation. The two sides held discussions to further deepen their cooperation.

Tan Tieniu expressed heartfelt gratitude to China Telecom for its concern and support for the development of NJU. He introduced NJU's basic situation in terms of its history, discipline construction, campus development, scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, and open education. Tan Tieniu pointed out that NJU and China Telecom have maintained a good cooperative relationship for a long time. Looking to the future, there is broad space for cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence application research, talent cultivation, and cadre education and training. Tan Tieniu expressed hope that China Telecom will continue to strongly support NJU's development, and that both parties can further deepen exchanges and cooperation to better leverage the strategic scientific and technological strengths of the nation.

Ke Ruiwen, on behalf of China Telecom, welcomed Tan Tieniu and his delegation. He noted that China Telecom and NJU have a solid foundation for cooperation and vast prospects for future collaboration, which urgently need further expansion of cooperative projects and strengthened strategic planning and exchanges. Ke Ruiwen expressed the hope that China Telecom and NJU will jointly focus on major national needs, target cutting-edge fields, fully leverage each other's strengths, continuously enhance practical cooperation, strive to form a normalized coordination mechanism, and explore new paths for university-industry collaboration and the integration of industry, academia, and research, driving their collaboration to achieve new breakthroughs.

Suo Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU, and Huang Zhiyong, Member of the Party Group and Deputy General Manager of China Telecom, proposed visions and plans for future cooperation development around topics such as jointly promoting scientific research innovation and technological breakthroughs, advancing the transformation of achievements and industrial incubation, and conducting talent cultivation and employment recruitment. Representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on specific cooperation matters.

Li Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee, Assistant President and Director of the General Office of NJU, along with relevant department and college leaders from NJU and responsible persons from relevant units of China Telecom, attended the meeting.
