On November 26, the 10th Anniversary of Rhodes Scholarship in China was held in Beijing. Lu Yanqing, Vice President of Nanjing University was invited to attend the event and held talks with Professor Sir Richard Trainor,Interim Warden of Rhodes House and CEO of The Rhodes Trust.
Professor Irene Tracey, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University, and Professor Sir Richard Trainor, CEO of the Rhodes Trust, jointly presented commemorative certificates to partner universities, including NJU, to express gratitude for their long-term support of the Rhodes Scholarship program. Two students from Nanjing University have received the Rhodes Scholarship to pursue further studies at Oxford University, namely Chen Yan (Class of 2019 Rhodes Scholar, undergraduate from the School of Foreign Studies) and Yan Yan (Class of 2020 Rhodes Scholar, undergraduate from the School of Social Sciences).

During the event, Vice President Lu Yanqing held a working meeting with Professor Sir Richard Trainor. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as the internationalization of higher education and the cultivation of top innovative talents, reaching multiple consensuses on further expanding cooperation between NJU and the Rhodes Trust. Lu Yanqing stated that NJU has always been committed to "providing the best undergraduate education in China" and hopes to work hand in hand with the Rhodes Trust to cultivate future leaders with a global perspective. Sir Richard Trainor highly affirmed NJU's achievements in talent cultivation and international cooperation, expressing that he will continue to maintain dialogue and interaction with NJU, jointly promoting the partnership between both sides to a new level.
