On November 9, 2025, a goodwill delegation from the Sino-German Exchange Association visited the History Museum of Nanjing University on Xianlin Campus, touring the special exhibition "Shared Testimony Across Time and Space", and holding discussions with Chen Min, Chair of the German Department, faculty member Chang Xuan, and team members of the "John Rabe Diaries and Peace City" project, engaging in dialogue on historical memory and the spirit of peace.
At the exhibition, the German visitors from the association learned about the heroic deeds of John Rabe and Danish youth Bernhard Sindberg, who sheltered Chinese refugees during the Nanjing Massacre. Facing the precious images, manuscripts, and cultural relics on display, they gained a deeper understanding of the humanitarian spirit of the two international friends. The visitors praised the exhibition as highly impressive, particularly commending the project team for presenting John Rabe’s story from a perspective that transcends national boundaries.

Following the exhibition, the delegation members engaged in seminars with teachers and students on Sino-German cultural exchange and the cultivation of peace spirit. The German representatives noted that Nanjing, with its profound historical, contemporary significance and inseparable connection to John Rabe, has become an essential stop on their visit for understanding Chinese society and culture.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the head of the delegation highly affirmed the significance of the visit. He emphasized that this period of history is not merely a memory of the past but a guiding beacon of peace for the future. The delegation commended Nanjing University's faculty and students for presenting this historical chapter in a deeply moving manner, which vividly demonstrated the power of the spirit of peace.
